B. S. Abdur Rahman




Buhari Syed Abdur Rahman (15 October 1927 – 7 January 2015) was an Indian entrepreneur, philanthropist and educationist. He had a range of business interests in the UAE and India (in Tamil Nadu) including maritime shipping, real estate, insurance etc. He founded numerous schools, colleges, hospitals and university. He was one of the 24 Indians to feature in The 500 Most Influential Muslims, an annual publication which ranks the most influential Muslims in the world

Abdur Rahman was the Vice-Chairperson of Emirates Trading Agency (commonly known as ETA Star) and Ascon Group, a Dubai-based conglomerate from 1973 to 2015. He is the founder of B. S. Abdur Rahman University (earlier named Crescent Engineering College), one of the first private owned engineering colleges in Chennai. He was the Chairman of East Coast Constructions and Industries, West Asia Exports and Imports, West Asia Maritime, Buhari Group, Amana Investments in Hong Kong and Transcar India. He was also the Vice-Chairman of Coal & Oil and Coastal Energy. He founded India's first stand-alone health insurer Star Health and Allied Insurance with the help of Oman Insurance Company.

Crescent University is located in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.[1] It is a private university established by Judge Bola Ajibola under the banner of the Islamic Mission for Africa.[2][3] It has the following colleges; The Bola Ajibola College of Law, The College of Environmental Sciences, The College of Information and Communication Technology, The College of Natural and Applied Sciences, The College of Arts, Social and Management Sciences and The College of Health Sciences.


.HISTORY:
           In 2002, the Educational Board of the Islamic Mission for Africa (IMA) recommended the establishment of Crescent University, Abeokuta. The National Universities Commission approved the establishment of the university in 2005. The University commenced its academic program in December 2005.

ACHIEVEMENTS:
                       Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) of B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science & Technology powered by Crescent Innovation & Incubation Council (CIIC) is crowned with a prestigious 5 STAR rating for the year 2019 – 2020. Additionally, B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science & Technology ranked in top 25 by ARIIA, Ministry of Education in Innovation & Startups.

RANKINGS:
                 B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology was ranked 102 among engineering colleges in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2022[7] and in the 151–200 band among all universities.

Started in the year 2006, the organization acts as agoverning  body for a range of clubs and activities. Over the years, the number of clubs that come under ISTD-C have only been increasing. At present, we have eleven clubs catering to various needs. The presence of one unifying body, such as ISTD-C helps develop unity between various clubs and also eases communication. All major events conducted have been under ISTD-C for more than a decade and it has somewhat become an identity to many alumni. The legacy carried by ISTD-C goes beyond Crescent.

MY CLASSROOM:   In my clasroom there is wide space to sit all tha students comfortably.  All the classrooms are not same as one some will be differ from others. In my classroom there is a projector with screen to develop our knowledge by seeing and learning the ppt in the screen. The classroom are look like better place to study and enjoy in the college.  There are many fans in the classroom so it will not be get sweat during the class hours. And there also provided a window that can be relax by seeing the natureg and enjoying the nature.  My classroom is more spacious and there will be to sit upto 60 members in a class. There will be number of benches in my class. Vertically there will be 5 rows of benches and horizontally there will be 6 to 7 benches available in a row.  In a single bench there will able to sit 2 members in a bench and there is one green board which will be more spacious of the screen of projector. These are the facilities available in my classroom.

BA( enterpreneurship and Family Business), B. BA ( General)are the several courses in commerce department.  Among the under graduate there is also a post graduate in commerce department they are M.
